JAKARTA - Commenting on the Instant Review technology at BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2014, Indonesian men's single player, Simon Santoso who was halted in the second round by Hong Kong's Hu Yun, is in an opinion that the chance for a player to demand Challenge or ask for Instant Review is enhanced.

"Yes, if it is possible,  the Challenge, should be more than twice as it is now," Simon stated.

Moreover, he said that in critical phases, a player needs the Instant Review technology badly. "I can't imagine that a playes doesn't have the options in critical phases of a match," Simon said.

Instant Review is BWF's breakthrough used for the first time at BWF World Super Series Finals 2013. Instant Review allows a player to disagree with line judge's decision to declare challenge by raising one's hand and saying "challenge" to the line judge. A player can only use it twice in a match.

After that, a playback will be shown in slow motion, like the Eagle Eye feature  used in tennis. If the player's challenge is proven to be correct, the players is given two other chances to declare challenge. But if it is not correct, the player has only one challenge option remaining.

When asked about his impression regarding this year's tournament, the former 2012 champion Simon Santoso said this Indonesia Open is the best of all previous tournaments.

"This year event is the best I think, it is more well organized," he briefly said.
