In 2012, Kido and Hendra Setiawan defeated Rian/Rendra in the first round of Indonesia Open. In 2013, Kido together with Alvent Yulianto Chandra also won in the first round.

Kido defeated Rian/Rendra 11-21, 21-18, 21-14 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (19/6). But, it occurred in a battle for quarter final.  "Yes I have defeated Rian/Rendra three times in a row at Indonesia Open, each with different partners," Kido said after the match.

Rian/Rendra is the pair who always makes the crowds rumble with their attractive and expressive style of playing, they can light up the match into a thrilling one. 

"I just played normally. Whenever playing against them, it is always thrilling, it is always three sets," he added.

Kido admitted that Rian and he are actually in the same batch in pelatnas PBSI Cipayung. So, we know each other's style.

But Rian didn't prepare himself good enough for this tournament. Moreover, the training pattern of both players are different since Rian is now coaching for PB Djarum.

"Theoretically, we are inferior. But, we just try to perform well," Rian stated.
