Even without thorough preparation, Rian sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya decided to take part at BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIOSSP) 2014. Despite the sudden decision, it turned out to be their way to grab 2812,5 dollars (Rp 30 millions) as they are qualified to the second round.

The following result was achieved after Rian/Rendra stunned Hoon Thien How/Ow Yao Han 21-17, 21-12 in a battle for a ticket to second round, Wednesday (18/6). Playing without pressure, both players made the supporters at Senayan stadium rumble at night.

"We've met Thien How before, so we know how they play. It was actually a nothing to lose match," Rian said. Rian stated that participating at BIOSSP is their "sidejob". It is because they are aware of their long absence in Super Series Premier level tournaments. Moreover,  Rian admitted he rarely practices.

"We were in the ninth waiting list. We also didn't prepare anything to be here. I only play when coaching and sparing with other athletes. Yes, we realize our situation," he explained.

When he was asked about particular targets, Rian said there were no any specific targets playing at BIOSSP 2014 with his teammate Rendra. But, to be able to qualify to the second round is rewarding enough.

"During my stay with Pelatnas PBSI Cipayung, I have never been able to qualify to Indonesia Open second round, so this result is not bad at all," Rian whose best achievement was qualified to Indonesia Open quarter final in 2012.

In a battle for quarter final, Rian/Rendra will take on Markis Kido/Markus Fernaldi Gideon. Rian said Kido has been his barrier in two years in a row at Indonesia Open.

"It has always been Kido althouh with different teammate. Once they stunned me when he was playing with Hendra Setiawan and with Alvent Yulianto Chandra," he said.

"Theoritically speaking, we won't be able to win. But at least it is worth to try now," Rian added.
