Jakarta - BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2014 has officially begun since Tuesday. Indonesian athletes have started their journey in the qualifying round of a tournament that offers $750,000 prize money.

In the beginning of men's singles qualifying round, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Selvanus Geh successfully scored a victory in the first match. Taking on Lukasz Moren/Wojciech Szkudlarczyk from Poland, Kevin/Geh won in two sets straight.

Confidently leading 21-10 in the first game, Kevin/Geh managed to dominate the second game and to the lead 16-11. Unfortunately, they lost five points resulted from their blunders in anticipating their opponents' serves, they were even left behind 19-20 at the end of the second game.

However, thanks to their amazing performance and ball positioning, they finally ended the game with tight 23-21.

"in the second game, our opponents' serves were good, so we had trouble to manage the returns, we had also poor anticipation several times," Kevin said after the match.

After qualified from the qualifying round, Kevin/Geh will challenge Jagdish Singh/Wee Long Roni Tan from Malaysia which is scheduled this evening, 5.30 pm local time. Playing this match, Kevin is optimistic to win.

"if we look at the drawing, I hope we can keep on winning, at least until the second round," he said.

Besides men's doubles, Kevin will also play in mixed doubles together with an Indonesian senior player, Greysia Polii. In this sector, Kevin doesn't set a particular target. He who has just been coupled with Greysia admits that he is still adjusting playing with Greysia.

It turned out that this pair assured a ticket to the main round. They stunned Mohd Lutfi Zaim Abdul Khalid/Fie Cho Soong from Malaysia with 21-11, 16-21 dan 24-22, and in the final of qualifying round they also defeated Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati with 19-21, 21-18 and 21-15.
