Jakarta | Although bearing the titleholder status, the Japanese player, Kento Momota claims that he does not want to let his guard off during Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 that will be held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta from 16 to 21 July 2019. The stiff competition triggered Momota’s sense to be aware of every opponent that he will see in the tournament.

“As the first seeded player, I see a huge opportunity to defend the title in this tournament. But I don’t want to let my guard off and I still want to try my best,” Kento Momota said, during press conference in Media Center Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 o Monday (15/7).

Momota will start Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 by playing against the Malaysian representative, Daren Liew. Should he keep winning on the early stages; there is a chance that Momota will face the Indonesian top player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. This match is certainly anticipated by all badminton fans in Istora.

“I always look forward to play in Indonesia, in Istora. Because the local fans influence to me is huge. Hopefully I can show my best performance during this tournament,” he said.

On the other hand, Momota’s failure to win the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2019 BWF World Tour Super 500, last January has become Momota’s additional motivation to try to get the best result again in Istora. Moreover, Momota is known to always play brilliantly every time he plays in Istora.
