Indonesia - Korea Signed an Agreement on Young Players Training

Badminton Association of Indonesia's board signed an agreement with Badminton Korean Association (BKA). The MOU was signed amidst the BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIOSSP) 2014, Friday, (20/6).

The MOU signed by PP PBSI secretary-general, Anton Subowo and Chief Executive Director BKA Kim Joong Soo consists of five main points, one of them is junior athletes development program starting from June 20 2014 to improve the quality of the respective countries.

"We are very proud of this agreement. Badminton has spread, no more domination," Anton said. "As Asian countries, Korea and Indonesia will continue to be the best," he added.

Joong soo expressed his happiness and appreciation. Since both countries are two of the top badminton countries in the world, Indonesia and Korea should work together to share knowledge for the glory of badminton in the future.

"This partnership is very useful for both countries. Indonesia has a good training system, we can share knowledge. Hopefully these young players will possess the same quality with the current national team," said Joong Soo.

"This is the beginning of cooperation for badminton development and it will be followed with the next phase. Later on, we will discuss the sechedule details and the form of the program," said Anton.

Korea had previously worked closely with Malaysia regarding junior athletes coaching. Anton described, Indonesia will also discuss to start to work together with Malaysia.

"We are discussing with Nigeria, Kazhakstan and of course China," said Anton. Badminton World Federation's (BWF) chair of events, Peter Tarcala, revealed, the most important is the tight relationship among member countries regarding the future of badminton.

"Rivalry stays on the court, outside the court we must work together, because they all realize what it takes for this sport the future," added Tarcala.
