For the first time, the referees and judges at a Super Series Premier level wear Batik as uniforms. It only occurred at BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIOSSP) 2014.

As country widely known for Batik, Indonesia deserves to disseminate the nation's heritage to the world through international sports event like BIOSSP. Moreover, aligned with the "Spirit of The Nation" theme, Indonesia rightly wants to be famous of its Batik.

As it could be seen in semifinal, Saturday, 21/6, when the referees and judges wore Batik and will remain wearing Batik all the way to final round of BIOSSP, Sunday (22/6).

"This year we are looking something new, because this is the first year in which we have a new sponsor. We want more than just euphoria and transformation from red to blue, but we want to see more," said Mimi Irawan, vice manager of BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2014 Tournament.

Positive responses received from Badminton World Federation which considers Batik worn by the referees and judges adds excitement to the 750,000 us dollars tournament. Not only BWF, compliments are also coming from several referees from all over the world.

"At least, when success is not achieved, we want to be the best organizer in the world," Mimi said.

Moreover, Indonesia will keep on innovating in the next events, not only at Indonesia Open but also at BWF World Championships held on August 9-16, 2015 in Jakarta.
