“I believe that they can beat all of their opponents, under the condition that they both are well prepared and understand what are the do’s and don’ts during the match,” Said Hendry Saputra
“It’s okay if we are given the target to win the title, we can predict, but we are still unsure of who can actually grab the title. There is a great expectation to reach the final and be the champion. What is the baseline? Look at the head-to-head and then we can compare, if we see top player like Momota, Chou Tien and Axelsen, the trend fluctuates, sometimes we lose sometimes we win. If we see Shi Yuqi & Srikanth, we can win. Looking at the past results, I definitely believe that Jonathan & Anthony still have the chance to win it,” He added.
Moreover, Hendry claimed that only a few people have predicted that Anthony could grab the title during the past China Open 2018 BWF World Tour Super 1000. Thus, Hendry believes that his student can conquer the elite badminton world only if they have the much needed will power and apply the right strategy and plan.
“When Anthony won it, it was the result of the hard work that he put during the training session. However, he is still lacking of consistency, if not, he would have gotten more title than he currently has. He already has a good physical condition, good technique, good play and a strong winning mentality, but he still has to sharpen his consistency,” he added.
On the first round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Anthony will see the Chinese Men’s Singles player, Lu Guangzu while Jonatan will see the Danish player, Rasmus Genke.
