Indonesia’s best women’s doubles pair; Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, claimed that Blibli Indonesia Open (BIO) 2018 that will be held from 3 to 8 July 2018 is included on their list of important tournaments this year.

The matter was expressed by Greysia/Apriyani when interviewed by djarumbadminton.com during the badminton community meet-up event that was titled as Blibli Friends Meet Up: #EAAFORINDONESIA Safe & Smart Community – Road to Blibli Indonesia Open 2018 earlier on Saturday (30/6) in GOR PB Djarum Jakarta.

I think BIO is as important as Asian Games. The reason is that this (tournament) will be important to gain rank point that later will also be used to draw seeds for Asian Games, or even for the coming 2020 Olympic,” said Greysia.

Meanwhile, Apriyani expressed that the pair certainly have prepared themselves for the tournament that reward the winners to a total amount of USD 1.250.000 or equivalent to Rp. 17,5 Billion.

We certainly have prepared the best of us for Indonesia Open 2018. If we were to speak about the target, definitely everyone wants the best result. Thus, we must focus to show our (best) performance in every match, and we hope that our result in Indonesia Open 2018 is satisfactory,” Apriyani adds.

On the first round, Greysia/Apriyani will see the Danish pair, Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen. Playing against an unseeded pair, Greysia/Apriyani who is the No. 7 seed claims that they will not underestimate their opponents.

No opponents shall be underestimated. Thus, we are ready to face anyone,” Apriyani adds.
